JACKSON, Ga., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Georgia executed twice convicted murderer Warren Lee Hill after the U.S. Supreme Court declined a stay sought by his lawyers who said he had the IQ of a child. Hill died at 7:55 p.m. local time Monday by lethal injection of a single drug, the Georgia Department of Corrections said. His lawyers sought a last-minute reprieve from the Supreme Court, arguing he had an intellectual disability making him ineligible for the death penalty. Read More. |
