The West Virginia Department of Corrections has opened registration for the Mock Prison Riot for 2015, where new programs will focus on survival and tactical skills for the nation's corrections teams. The Mock Prison Riot has been a tool of law enforcement since 1997, as the four-day training program at the former West Virginia Penitentiary offers corrections officers a realistic simulation of the challenges they could face, as well as the opportunity to learn from their peers in other states or countries. "The Mock Prison Riot is known in every hemisphere of the world," said Jim Rubenstein, Department of Corrections commissioner.
