WEST SPARTA (AP) — State police say they're trying to determine what caused a state prison van to crash on a Livingston County highway, injuring a guard and an inmate. New York State Police troopers based in Geneseo say a Department of Corrections and Community Supervision van was transporting the inmate to Livingston County Court in Geneseo around 9 a.m. Tuesday when it crashed and overturned in the northbound lanes of Interstate 390 in the town of West Sparta, 40 miles south of Rochester. David A. Foulk, 52, of Elmira, the corrections officer driving the vehicle, suffered minor injuries to his leg and was treated at Noyes Hospital in Dansville. A second guard in the van wasn't injured. Read More. |
