Here is a unique idea. A Mississippi lawmaker is looking to feed prisoners cost effectively and make use of a resource at the same time. Rep. Tommy Taylor is a sponsor of House Bill 397, or the “Venison Harvesting Program for Inmate Consumption.” It would allow state, county and juvenile prisons to accept deer donated by hunters, with the inmates processing the meat.
