Everyone's trying to do more with less. Your child's school is likely facing budget cuts in some form. But Gov. Doug Ducey's budget includes money for another private prison and Arizona sheriffs we talked to said they have room for those inmates. The state prison population is rising rapidly and to keep up, state officials are requesting to build the state's seventh privately run prison. However, county jails would rather keep those dollars local. "Our statistics indicate that there is going to be a need for approximately 3,000 more beds in the next three fiscal years or so," Arizona Department of Corrections spokesman Doug Nick said.
