Inmate stabbed at MCI in Hagerstown

An inmate at the Maryland Correctional Institution in Hagerstown had to be hospitalized after he was stabbed by another inmate, authorities said.
The incident happened after breakfast yesterday morning in a stairway outside a recreation hall in tier "D."
The inmate was stabbed in the upper body. Prison officials said the inmate believed responsible for the stabbing has been placed in segregation and a homemade weapon has been recovered.
The names of the inmates have been withheld by prison officials.
