| FDLE mum on Suwannee prison stabbing investigation |

An inmate at the Suwannee Correctional Institution in Live Oak was badly injured in a Friday night stabbing, and the incident has prompted an investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The incident was described as “serious” by Florida Department of Corrections spokesman McKinley Lewis, who also said another inmate was a suspect. He declined to answer any questions about the case, saying it was under the purview of FDLE. FDLE spokesman Samantha Andrews said no other information in the case — including the nature of the crime, the identities of people involved and the time the incident occurred — would be made available.
