TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Friday the 13th proved to be an unlucky one for one county department. “I think if anybody paid attention to the media last Friday. Friday the 13th did live up to its reputation in our community, especially how it affected the department of corrections,” said Brian Cole, department of corrections director. Monday Cole briefed Shawnee County Commissioners on the lockdown that took place Friday, Feb. 13. Friday morning threats were called into the Shawnee County Jail, placing it under lockdown. Cole wanted to let commissioners know that he was pleased with how his staff responded to the situation. Read More. |
