| Faribault prison to receive city funds despite not paying storm water fees |

The Minnesota Correctional Facility in Faribault could receive up to $25,000 from the city to assist with a stormwater drainage project, despite not paying stormwater fees to the city. Following heavy rain events in 2011 and 2014, the Industry Building on the MCF campus flooded, which has put a halt to MINNCOR Industries operation, the Department of Corrections industry program that constructs wood furniture. After an engineering firm looked at the site, it determined that a large amount of the water was following the land’s grade from the northeast of the MCF property. Read More. |
