| Man sentenced for punching fellow Cass County Jail inmate |

PLATTSMOUTH – An Elkhorn man will spend additional time in the state corrections system for punching a fellow inmate at Cass County Jail last year. Dillon S. Martin, 22, appeared in Cass County District Court Monday morning for a sentencing hearing. Martin pled guilty in January to a Class III felony charge of second-degree assault by a confined person. Martin and Bellevue resident Nicholas A. Harris, 23, were co-defendants in a case that involved a string of car burglaries in western Cass County in 2011. Both were later arrested and charged for their roles in the auto thefts. Authorities had transported the men to Cass County Jail in October 2014 for sentencing on the car burglary charges. Martin had already started serving a sentence of 11-21 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary for multiple theft charges out of both Douglas and Sarpy counties. Read More. |
