A Wyoming State Penitentiary inmate suffered a stab wound from a homemade weapon, prompting a partial lockdown at the prison, according to the Department of Corrections. The stabbing was discovered about 9:30 p.m. last Wednesday as inmates were returning from a recreation yard, agency spokeswoman Martha Lenardson said. The inmate, who was not identified, was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition last Thursday, she said. The housing unit where the incident occurred has been locked down while the stabbing is investigated, Lenardson said. There are about 160 inmates in the unit, but Lenardson said she wasn't sure how many were subject to the lockdown. |
