Accident during inmate search injures two |

A law enforcement official was one of two people injured in an accident last week involving a Department of Public Safety bus and a pickup truck The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the bus heading was to Lexington to help search for state prison escapee Gary Taylor. Troopers say a D-P-S communications officer driving the bus was the only person on board when it collided with the pickup. The accident occurred on State Highway 39, two miles west of highway 24 near Purcell. The names of the two have not been released. Lieutenant Brandon Kopepasah says the injuries are not believed to be serious. Kopepasah says the accident is still under investigation. |
