A 23-year-old inmate who walked away from a residential treatment facility in El Monte on Friday was back in custody Monday. Breana Armstard left Friday, but turned herself in at the El Segundo Police Department on Saturday night, said Dana Simas of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which runs the facility. Armstard had been part of the Alternative Custody Program at the El Monte facility since Jan. 5 and was due for parole on April 15. She will now be housed at the California Institution for Women in Corona, Simas said. Read More. |
