MONTGOMERY, Alabama — An Alabama death row inmate has died while awaiting execution. Alabama Department of Corrections officials said in a statement that 56-year-old David Eugene Davis died early Sunday morning at the Holman Correctional Facility in Atmore. Officials say Davis was in the prison's infirmary and appears to have died of natural causes. The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences has taken custody of the man's body. Read More. |
