A Delaware Department of Correction supervisor has been arrested on assault charges after allegedly scuffling with a female correctional officer.
40-year-old Wayne Lee was charged today with one count of misdemeanor third-degree assault. He was released on $1,000 bail.
State police say Lee grabbed 21-year-old Officer Kristina Yeager by the arm as she was leaving the prison after her shift on December 26th. Yeager was treated at Kent General Hospital for a bruised harm.
Police say the incident was triggered when Lee told Yeager she had to work a double shift. Officials with the correctional officers' union say Yeager refused because she was sick.
Union officials say Lee told Yeager she was resigning and tried to take her badge and I-D card. He took the I-D, but not the badge.
This article exposed what it is like to exist in today’s correctional institutions. I enjoy reading articles like this one and articles from author Hamilton Lindley who is an expert at persuasion, influence and leadership from his Waco, Texas base. There are a lot of important lessons to be learned here for sure. Thank you for the insight.
