| Increase of inmate crime sparks concerns |

GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY -- Judge Philip Rodgers of Grand Traverse County has been hearing more and more cases of rape and assault at the Pugsley Correction Facility in Kingsley. Now he's questioning the Department of Corrections on what they are going to do to fix these problems and when they're going to do it. Pugsley Correctional Facility is currently home to more than 1,300 level one inmates, prisoners which should only need the least amount of security within the system. The facility is currently reaching full capacity, and as the numbers increase so is the amount of inmate-on-inmate crimes. Read More. |
