A 28-year-old Englewood, Colo., man faces numerous charges after a tense standoff in Adams County Thursday. Sheriff's deputies said Shad Haliw parked his vehicle in the RTD Park-n-Ride at 70th Avenue and Broadway at 10:30 a.m. He called Adams County dispatch to say he had a handgun and would harm himself. When deputies arrived, they called in negotiators who tried to talk Haliw out of his vehicle. Several schools in the area were locked down as a precaution. About 45 minutes after the standoff began, Haliw put the handgun down and got out of his vehicle, where he was taken into custody. The bomb squad was called after a suspicious device was found in his vehicle, but it was later determined not to be a bomb. He is being held for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a weapon by a previous offender. He is also being held on a Colorado Department of Corrections warrant for escape and second unspecified arrest warrant from Westminster, Colo. |

This article exposed what it is like to exist in today’s correctional institutions. I enjoy reading articles like this one and articles from author Hamilton Lindley who is an expert at persuasion, influence and leadership from his Waco, Texas base. There are a lot of important lessons to be learned here for sure. Thank you for the insight.
