| 2 Ga. prison guards step down amid inmate beating probe |

ATLANTA (AP) Two prison guards have resigned after a photo of a beaten inmate was distributed online from a facility that they were supposed to be supervising, Georgia Department of Corrections officials said Tuesday. The guards, who stepped down, haven't been identified. The Department of Corrections is investigating, spokeswoman Gwendolyn Hogan said. The photo shows Cortez Berry, 18, with a swollen eye, kneeling down in front of two other shirtless inmates who have fixed a makeshift leash around his neck at the Burruss Correctional Training Center in Forsyth.
