| County consolidates Community Corrections, Juvenile Services |

Leavenworth County commissioners voted Thursday to consolidate the county's Community Corrections program for adults with the Department of Juvenile Services. The commissioners said their action is subject to approval by local judges. The Community Corrections program provides supervision to felony offenders. The Department of Juvenile of Services administers programs for juvenile offenders including the operation of the Juvenile Detention Center. Thursday's vote by the commission will place Community Corrections as well as a county-city probation program under the supervision of the Director of Juvenile Services Sean Crittendon. Read More. |
