| Prosecutors express 'safety' concerns about prison reform bills |

LINCOLN — Nebraska Attorney General Doug Peterson and the state's county attorneys say they have serious concerns about prison reform and sentence changes in bills being debated Tuesday. The prosecutors have particular distress about two bills (LB605 and LB173) that reduce sentences. The state may be trading early release problems that happened in the past several years because of neglect, to early release problems by design. Read More. |
