| Missouri Executes a Man After Appeals Rejected |

A Missouri inmate has been executed for murdering a man over child support payments around 16 years back. On Tuesday the 52 years old Andre Cole became the third convicted killer who was put to death this year in Missouri. The decisoin was finalized after the US Supreme Court turned down several appeals including the one that claimed that Cole was mentally unwell hence unfit for execution. On Tuesday Gov Gay Nixon refused a clemency petition that raised some concerns about the fact that Cole was convicted by a totally white jury. Cole was black. Spokesman for the Missouri Department of Corrections, Mike O’Connell, said that Cole was executed by lethal injection at around 10:15 pm and was pronounced dead around nine minutes later.
