Yankton inmate on lam might face escape, other charges after surrendering to Pierre police

The man who walked away from his state prison confines in Yankton over the weekend then turned himself in to Pierre police three days later could face new charges as well as having to serve more time under his original sentence.

Jonathan Archambeau, 28, turned himself in Wednesday evening to Pierre police.

He had been on the lam since walking away from a buffet restaurant in Yankton about 8:30 p.m. Sunday where he worked days, spending his nights in the state’s minimum security prison.
