| State to move forward with Gissendaner execution after investigation of "cloudy" drugs |

The "cloudy" drugs that led to a botched execution of Kelly Renee Gissendaner will not prevent the Georgia Department of Corrections from pushing to execute the former Auburn resident. Court documents filed last week say a low temperature during shipping was likely the cause of the cloudy material in the drug that was to be used in the March execution. Gissendaner’s attorneys have argued that her Constitutional Rights were violated because she dealt with hours of torment with the uncertainty of a botched execution. Gissendaner was sentenced to death row in 1998 for the murder of her husband Douglas Gissendaner and was scheduled to be executed March 2. Read More. |
