| Hamilton County Man Sentenced for Escape |

MCLEANSBORO -- A Broughton man, already sentenced to seven years in prison, will spend even more time behind bars after failing to report to the Department of Corrections, then fleeing from police. Daniel Royse, 25, pleaded guilty Monday in Hamilton County Court to escape and obstructing justice. He was sentenced to four more years in prison. State's Attorney Justin Hood told News 3 that on March 16, Royse pleaded guilty to charges of theft and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, at which time he was sentenced to seven years in prison. However, Royse failed to surrender to authorities and was arrested again on April 14 after fleeing from a Hamilton County Sheriff's deputy. Read More. |
