Television interviews with prison inmates might be a thing of the past in Minnesota. The Minnesota Department of Corrections quietly adopted a new policy to ban television cameras for use during face-to-face interviews with inmates. "The only adjustment to the policy is the ... disallowance of cameras," Corrections Commissioner Tom Roy told reporters at a news conference with Governor Mark Dayton. However, that is a big adjustment. The new policy now includes TV cameras under a list of "contraband" prohibited in prisons. The Minnesota chapter of the "Society of Professional Journalists" issued a statement saying they're "outraged" over the policy.
