Gov. Ige honors correction officers, deputy sheriffs and nurses in ceremonies

Hawaii - The Department of Public Safety joined Governor David Ige Friday to honor corrections officers, civilian employees, deputy sheriffs and nurses with three proclamation ceremonies at the State Capitol.

The governor started with National Corrections Officers and Employees Week (completing Saturday), by recognizing the employees of all state prison and jail facilities for their role in safeguarding the citizens of Hawaii by mediating, counseling and mentoring inmates, all while providing the safe, secure and humane incarceration of offenders within their custody.
