| Thousands of police officers biking from NYC to DC to honor those killed in the line of duty |

The officers read the names solemnly, one by one. All 39 Jersey City police officers killed in the line of duty were honored during the 2015 Police Unity Tour bike ride, a 300-mile ride from Ground Zero to Washington, DC that passed through Jersey City this morning. The last name to be read was Det. Melvin Santiago, by his uncle, Hudson County corrections officer Vincent DeFazio. DeFazio could not hold back tears as he read his nephew's name, who was killed in the line of duty last July in Jersey City. Read More. |
