Two ex-prison officers have been charged by South Carolina's State Law Enforcement Division with misconduct in office. Gregory J. Page, 38, and Amy Y. Branham, 28, were arrested Friday morning and taken to the Richland County jail, the State Law Enforcement Division announced. Page, of Camden, is accused of withholding information about prison contraband, talking to an inmate by cell phone and knowing that inmates were being told in advance of raids by prison rapid-response teams, according to the warrant. Branham, of Elgin, is accused of making calls to an inmate, telling inmates about upcoming raids and knowing that an inmate had contraband. The warrants provided no further details, and the arrest was not listed on the Corrections Department Web site as of Sunday. |
