| Inmates Wear Pink Handcuffs |

Some Phoenix area inmates are in the pink -- pink handcuffs. Deputies in Maricopa County are using fluorescent pink handcuffs when they transport prisoners. It's the idea of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. He says he is tired of losing the department's cuffs to his own deputies and other agencies. Arpaio notes nobody else has pink handcuffs, so they'll be easy to spot. The cuffs are made in England and cost about 60 cents more a pair than silver ones. It's not the first time Arpaio has turned to pink. His inmates wear pink boxer shorts and sleep on pink sheets. |
