Miles Bench’s execution stayed until further notice |

The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals has ordered a stay of Miles Bench’s execution, tentatively set for Aug. 6, until further notice. The stay gives the state, represented by the Oklahoma Attorney General’s office, and Bench, represented by Oklahoma Indigent Defense System Capital Trial Post-Conviction Division Chief Kristi Christopher, time to make their case for the appellate process. Bench, 24, beat Braylee Henry, 16, of Velma, to death in the back room of the Tee Pee Totem convenience store where he worked as a cashier on June 6, 2012. Read More. |
