A 19-year-old man escaped from a youth detention center in St. Charles where he was being held for a parole violation on a burglary charge, officials said. Denzell Walker, 19, escaped from the medium-security facility about 10 p.m. Monday, according to a spokesman for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. The facility is located in the 3800 block of Campton Hills Road in the far western suburb. Officials could not say how the teen escaped. Department spokesman Michael Theodore said law enforcement officials were conducting an "extensive search of the area."
