| 66-year-old inmate found dead at Snake River Correctional Institute |

James A. Papineau, an inmate at Snake River Correctional Institution in Ontario, was found dead in his cell early Wednesday morning, according to the Oregon Department of Corrections. A correctional officer found Papineau, who was alone a cell, at 7 a.m. The prison's medical staff attempted to resuscitate the 66-year-old but he was pronounced dead at 7:15 a.m. according to the state. Oregon State Police are investigating the death. Papineau had originally been convicted on multiple charges for crimes in Multnomah and Clackamas County, including robbery in the first degree, burglary in the first degree and coercion. He was paroled on May 3, 2004, but violated his parole. Read More. |
