STORMVILLE Green Haven Correctional Facility has been on lockdown since Friday, state officials confirmed Monday afternoon. Officials said contraband was found, but didn’t give details on what items were discovered. “Green Haven was locked down for a facility-wide frisk...and it remains in that same status today,” said Linda Foglia, spokeswoman for the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, via email. “With 1,944 inmates, a facility-wide search can usually take close to a week. I can’t confirm any specifics as we continue to look into the matter.” The facility’s lockdown is not related to the inmates who escaped from the Clinton Correctional Facility June 6, Foglia said.
