TROUTVILLE, Va. - The Virginia National Guard is returning to the Roanoke region. The National Guard announced Friday that it will move into the former Botetourt Correctional Center in Troutville. The National Guard could move in as early as October 2016. The correctional center was offered to the National Guard at no cost. The Botetourt Correctional Center closed in 2010. The Virginia National Guard vacated the Roanoke armory in 2009. Read More. |
