| Autopsy showed no evidence of violence, suicide in Shawnee County inmate death |

An autopsy conducted Monday afternoon showed no evidence that violence or suicide were involved in the death Sunday evening of 50-year-old Shawnee County Jail inmate Christopher Alan Clark, said Maj. Tim Phelps, spokesman for the county department of corrections. Authorities won’t be able to determine Clark’s specific cause of death until toxicological tests have been completed, Phelps said. That should take about a month, corrections director Brian Cole told the Shawnee County Commission at its meeting Monday morning. Phelps said Clark’s death appeared to be from a medical issue. He added, “We are still investigating the event internally to determine if departmental security and medical protocols were properly followed, although preliminary review indicates they were.” Read More. |
