Inmate recaptured after going missing during work release

DECATUR, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: According to the Alabama Department of Corrections, the inmate who went missing during work release in Decatur July 3 has been recaptured.

Theodore DeWayne Lockett, 45, was taken into custody at 1:15 p.m. at Wilson Morgan Park in Decatur. Authorities responded to a call that Lockett has been sighted at the park.

After attempting to run from the officers, Lockett was apprehended after a brief case and taken into custody.
