SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes detectives said Monday that they are investigating the death of a female inmate at the Spokane County Jail. Officials said a Corrections Officer found an unresponsive female inmate during a cell check at 4:33 p.m. Officials said the officer immediately called for medical assistance and began life-saving efforts. Authorities said medical personnel arrive on scene within minutes but the efforts to revive the woman were unsuccessful. Officials said the woman was housed by herself at the time of the incident and was in-custody on a Washington State Department of Corrections Community Custody Hold. Read More. |
