| Ex-Ga. corrections worker sentenced for stealing money from restitution fund |

ATLANTA — Federal prosecutors say a former Georgia Department of Corrections worker has pleaded guilty to stealing from the victim restitution fund. Authorities said Wednesday that 41-year-old Daynna Gregory of Lithonia pleaded guilty to theft of public funds and conspiracy. Prosecutors say 54-year-old Richard Cantrell of Marietta and 37-year-old Tammi Stephens of Forsyth, also pleaded guilty in the case earlier this year. Prosecutors say Gregory worked in the department's banking unit and was responsible for issuing checks from a restitution fund to compensate crime victims. Read More. |
