| Perry County authorities searching for escaped inmate |

PERRY COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - An early morning escape at the Perry County Jail has an inmate on the run. Perry County law enforcement officers are searching for escaped inmate, Jason Elliot Mazingo, 37, who escaped around 2 a.m. "The jailer found him hiding in a holding cell, and she went to get help and when she went to get help he escaped," said Perry County Sheriff Jimmy Dale Smith. "He opened his cell door open with some plastic spoons, or some type of plastic utensils that inmates get for their meals," said Smith. Mazingo was in custody for seven counts of residential burglary out of Perry County. Read More. |
