| Brown to Retire as Warden of GRCC; Hart Promoted to Fill Post |

FRANKFORT, Ky. (7/22/15) — Alan Brown, a 27-year veteran of the Department of Corrections, will retire as warden at Green River Correctional Complex on Aug. 1. DeEdra Hart, deputy warden at Western Kentucky Correctional Complex, has been promoted to fill the post. Brown began his corrections career in April 1988 as a correctional officer at the Kentucky State Penitentiary. He was promoted through the ranks at KSP and WKCC and was promoted to warden at the Green River prison in 2012. During his career he has received several awards including a Commissioner's Award, Warden's Commendation and two Distinguished Service Awards. "Alan Brown will be deeply missed," said Corrections Commissioner LaDonna Thompson. "He has dedicated his entire professional career to the Department and has been a tremendous asset to us at three different institutions." Read More. |
