ANCHORAGE - A woman is being treated at a Seward hospital Monday evening, after Alaska State Troopers say she shot herself in the head outside a local maximum-security prison following a demand to release inmates. According to an AST dispatch late Monday, Crown Point troopers were called just before 5 p.m. Monday to the Spring Creek Correctional Center after a 31-year-old woman carrying a gun approached the prison’s perimeter. “The female stated she would kill herself if the convicted killers were not released,” troopers wrote. “Just prior to AST arrival it was reported that the female had shot herself in the head and this was witnessed by several SCCC correctional officers. CPR was immediately initiated by the correctional officers and SCCC nurses.” Read More. |
