Authorities are searching for a Black River Correctional Center inmate and former Chippewa Falls resident who walked away from the facility Sunday evening and may have since stolen a vehicle. Kaeden T.J. Dumholt left the town of Komensky minimum-security prison between 9-10:45 p.m. and was last seen near Ho-Chunk Gaming – Black River Falls in the town of Brockway just after midnight, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. Law enforcement believes Dumholt stole a gray four-dour 1996 Chevrolet Lumina, license plate 273-VUG, from the area where the search for him was conducted. The sheriff’s department received a report of the stolen vehicle about 6:40 a.m. Monday. The 20-year-old former Chippewa Falls resident is considered a dangerous “high public safety risk.” Evidence does not indicate he has a weapon, but the public is urged to use caution and contact law enforcement if he is seen, according to the sheriff’s department.
