| Prisoner has history of escaping, lengthy criminal record, documents show |

Philip Peletz said he'd do just about anything to avoid going to prison. For three decades, Peletz racked up more than 30 felony and misdemeanor convictions in Florida and Pennsylvania. He continually found ways to avoid prison, but always wound up back behind bars. And once again, Peletz, 53, is avoiding going back to prison: this time by literally running away from it. Peletz, who is serving a five-year prison sentence at the Loxahatchee Road Prison, walked away from a work site Tuesday near the corner of Okeechobee Road and E Street in Loxahatchee. Despite searching for him for more than 24 hours, officials so far have been unable to find him, and authorities are unsure how he got away from Florida Department of Corrections staff.
