| DOC Considers Mizanskey’s Release From Life Sentence for Pot |

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Jeff Mizanskey is getting a chance at freedom from the Department of Corrections Parole Board . He is serving a life sentence and has been in jail since 1993 for possession and distribution of marijuana. Mizanskey had fought, with the help of many to have his life sentence without the possibility of parole lowered by Governor Jay Nixon, to life with possible parole. He tells KMOX he knows it’s not a sure thing and his release is still up to the board. He is in prison after his third arrest involving marijuana, his third strike. That last time he was found driving a friend to go and pick up an alleged seven pounds of marijuana to distribute.
