| Brevard sheriff to send inmates to tents |

Officials at the Brevard County (Fla.) Jail say they don't have enough room for all their prisoners. So, in what may seem to be a bizzare move, county commissioners decided to put them outside in tents, WESH reported. Taxpayers have repeatedly rejected plans for tax increases to pay for an expansion, so Sheriff Jack Parker proposed the tents last Thursday as a much cheaper alternative. The identical tents, called sprung instant structures, are already in use in other jurisdictions and the military. |
