GILA BEND, AZ (KPHO/KTVK) - Westbound Interstate 8 is closed east of Gila Bend due to an overnight crash involving a prison bus. The Department of Public Safety said a Department of Corrections bus with 50 inmates on board hit a commercial vehicle. The bus driver is seriously injured. Approximately 12 inmates were transported to hospitals for treatment. All inmates are accounted for, officials said. Read More. |
