Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino today announced that the Bergen County Jail is in full compliance with standards set forth by the New Jersey Department of Corrections.

The four day inspection performed July 2015 by the Department of Corrections through its Office of County Services has determined that the Bergen County Jail satisfies the 622 requirements outlined in the New Jersey Administrative Code (NJAC) 10A:31, the “Manual of Standards for New Jersey Adult County Correctional Facilities.” “This accomplishment along with the National Accreditation from the American Correctional Association, has demonstrated that the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office is committed to operating a correctional institution second to none, said Sheriff Saudino.”

"This is an excellent day for the men and women who tirelessly work at making the Bergen County Jail a safe and efficient facility,” said Sheriff Saudino. "This achievement signifies that this administration is fulfilling its commitment to the taxpayers to run a first-rate facility consistent with the core functions of the Sheriff’s Office.”
