| Illinois Department of Corrections inadvertently shares Social Security numbers of 1,000 employees |

Personal information of more than 1,000 Illinois Department of Corrections employees has been inadvertently shared. The department found out about the security breach Friday, August 14, 2015. In a letter to multiple Illinois lawmakers, the department’s acting director, Gladyse Taylor, said information, including employees’ names, Social Security Numbers, ranks, salaries, and job duties were shared during a Freedom of Information Act request. The employees were from Lawrence and Dixon Correctional Centers, according to Taylor’s letter. Read More. |
