| Trio of homicides at Holdenville prison |

Three homicides have taken place at the Davis Correctional Facility in Holdenville — a private prison owned by Corrections Corporation of America — within the last year. First, Tory Czernecki, 22, scheduled to serve 15 years for rape in the first degree, was fatally strangled in October, according to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's office. Authorities have since charged Joshua Wheeler, 25, with first degree murder in Czernecki's death. Wheeler was first convicted in Pittsburg County of robbery in the first degree in 2008 and is how housed at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. Then, in December, the state medical examiner's office said 28-year-old Eric Grimm, also an inmate at Holdenville, was slain. An autopsy determined he was strangled.
