An Oklahoma prison escapee captured in Kingman County in March was sentenced Thursday to 53 months in federal prison for unlawfully possessing a firearm after a felony conviction, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. Lance D. Colbert, 40, was arrested in Spivey, Kan., with a .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver in his pants pocket, just days after fleeing from Mack Alford Correctional Center in Stringtown, Okla., Grissom said. A deputy with the U.S. Marshals Service in Wichita caught Colbert on March 11 after spotting him in a vehicle parked on the shoulder of a highway, according to federal court records. They were discovered missing about 12 hours later. Read More. |
